But once upon a time, things were quite different for the Tremaines…When Gigi Rowland first laid eyes on Camden Saybrook, Lord Tremaine, the attraction was immediate and overwhelming: she simply had to have him. But what began in a spark of passion ended in betrayal the morning after their wedding—and Gigi wants to be free to marry again. Now Camden has returned from America with an outrageous demand—an heir—in exchange for Gigi’s freedom.
Gigi’s decision will have consequences she never imagined, as secrets are exposed, desire is rekindled—and one of London’s most admired couples must either fall in love all over again…or let each other go forever.
This book had promise from the beginning. I enjoyed the flash backs but (yes the but) the end was horrible. How could you go thru 300 pages of conflict of the marraige to get the last 10 pages of a happy ever after? Poorly done ending. I was hoping for more. How could he accept her so easily open the door and there she is..... Badly done NO EMOTIONS from Camden not a why or how or what took you so long!!
It will be a while before I try another Sherry Thomas book and such a shame because I have it on my shelf.

Captain John Grayson, an embittered cavalry officer, learns that no honorable deed goes unpunished when he returns to England after Waterloo. Maggie Delaney, the unwed motherwhose baby he delivered when on leave, is now, quite improperly, living on his family estate, masquerading as his wife. To repay the absent Captain for her deception, Maggie has worked tirelessly to heal his fractured family, but when Gray arrives to confront her, she fears her safe life will be over. Gray is torn between duty and truth. Should he expose Maggie--pose as her lawful husband–or fall in love with this improper wife?
